Thank You!
This site wouldn't exist without the help and support of friends and family, many of whom deserve special recognition.
Thanks to my parents and late grandparents who bought me GI Joe toys for every occasion, because that was what I begged for, along with my my brothers and sister, who put up with me even when I yelled at them for not playing right.
Thanks to Carson Mataxis, the creator of 3D Joes, and 3.75 collector extraordinaire, whose website inspired this one, and whose technical advice and support made this possible. Also, to Dave, one of the most enthusiastic Joe-heads you'll ever meet and host of the Flag Points podcast, for turning me on to 3D Joes, and introducing me to Carson.
Thanks to Dan McKee, host of one of the web's greatest vintage GI Joe sites that inspired me to chase down all the sets I didn't have, and has always been incredibly sharing with information and advice. Also, huge appreciation to Derryl DePriest, collector and author of The Collectible G.I. Joe, a book that was never far away when I needed reference. It's is far and away the best book on GI Joe, so if you don't have a copy, hunt one up now.
The folks at Arqspin.com have some sweet software that makes the spins on the site possible, and Weebly.com provides the templates. Both have good products and deserve your business.
The crew at Vectis Auctions Ltd in the UK were generous in allowing me to use many images from their beautifully photographed GI Joe Auction held in March of 2012. They offer great sales and some of the best and friendliest communication in the business. The list of toys auctioned by Vectis is endless- Diecast, Trains, Doll and Teddy Bears, Lead, Plastic, Militaria, Tinplate, General Toys including Games, Constructional Toys, Railwayana, Books, Comics and Annuals.
Master collector Dan Whitton kindly shared knowledge and images of items from his top drawer collection. As a retired Marine Master Sergeant, Dan has lived the life of a GI Joe, and we thank him for his service! He can be found selling both GI Joe and great vintage militaria on eBay.
No single collector has been as generous in sharing images and information than the great Joezeta. He has an encyclopedic collection and knowledge of our favorite 12" figure, and is a very reputable trader and dealer. Be sure to check out his eBay sales of GI Joe and other vintage toys and collectibles.
Ace Allgood was instrumental in restoring the three original commercials found on the site. He is a fantastically generous guy with a stunning collection. Check out some of his collection here.
Thanks to the dealers and collectors who have helped out so far, Danny Young (Dr. Quest), Wenty35, Matt Babek, John "Toyzilla" Marshall, Sympathy for the Devil, Mark Otnes, Anthony Gunter, Dan McDonald, Steve Stovall, Matt Peregoy, James Long, and L & L Collectables. My apologies to anyone left off this list!
Above all, thanks to my wonderful wife Joann, who lets me play with GI Joe for hours on end without complaint, and only the occasional raised eyebrow when I tell her I only need to find one more item.
(Oh, and thanks to you too, the collectors who will find your names here when I beg you to help provide pictures of packages!)
