About Vintage 3D Joes
GI Joe was introduced by Hasbro in 1964 and quickly became a huge success. This site is my tribute to the toy I loved as a kid and have obsessed over collecting as an adult.
In the 90s when I started collecting GI Joe, it was hard to get information on the toy, and experienced collectors often liked to keep the details to themselves. Since then there have been a number of excellent works published that can help collectors learn about the many adventures and faces of GI Joe. Unlike a book, this site will allow me to publish more visuals than a publisher could fit in any one volume, so I hope it will become one of your favorite stops on the web.
If you're browsing and see a packaged item, major variation, or something else missing from the site and you have images from your own collection (not internet grabs) that would fill the gaps, please contact me. I'm happy to give you full credit and a link to your own site, auctions, or whatever. If you want to stay anonymous, that's fine too. If you find a mistake, or there is a detail you really want to see, do the same, please let me know.
